About me

I am an artist living and working in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, UK. The natural world has been my inspiration since boyhood when I immersed myself in the rich environment of the East Anglian fens and surrounding rivers. Fishing, drawing and painting formed the basis of my early art. I studied Technical Drawing at Wisbech Isle College and from there gained my degree in Scientific & Natural History Illustration from Lancaster University in 1997.

After graduating and moving to Wales I joined Newport museum and Art gallery where I was able to study their excellent permanent fine art collection at close quarters and meet contemporary working artists making a living from their lifelong arts and crafts. This was a huge inspiration to me and influenced our move to Pembrokeshire to persue a career as an artist in 2004. Pembrokeshire's beautiful ocean, coast and countryside has earned an special place in my heart since we moving here along side the magical fenlands of my childhood.

I have exhibited with The Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Royal Society of Portrait Painters in the Mall galleries, London and I run a small bespoke picture framing business where I specialise in hand finished gilded frames for a small number of artists.
